We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay for lunch on our road trip.
Location: the hotel was right by a large beer garden leading down to the water, the mass fast food market and the lakeside wonderful. A cool bonus was Costa Coffee, located nearby, it offered tea and coffee.

review: Enjoyed amazing views and a clean, spacious room. The breakfast had a nice selection, though some items could improve in flavor. Staff were friendly, yet service felt stretched during busy hours, causing delays in food and room cleaning. Still, the location by the lake is unbeatable! , rating: 8, date of stay: 2024-06-15}

Great food, overall lovely relaxed place.
Really good experience there. Clean place, staff was top-class. Reasonably priced and pet-friendly room with captivating views over the lake. Wonderful and incredible location in Ambleside, not far from the Windermere ferries and Very near to public transport to Bowness-on-Windermere. Reasonably priced outdoor bar.

The view from Room 18 provides a picturesque scene of the garden. Attention to detail shines through, from the thoughtful amenities for families to the ambiance that adds character to the space.
Our room felt cramped, forcing us to navigate sideways around the bed. Being above the bar meant enduring a noisy night, especially with live music going until late. Quieter rooms are surely preferable if you're looking to rest. Checking in without a dedicated reception area gave it a BnB vibe rather than a hotel feel, particularly when we had to wait for our room while mingling with pub patrons. A complimentary drink to ease the inconvenience would have helped, especially upon arrival when the room wasn't ready. The charm of the area is overshadowed by minor annoyances that detract from the experience.

Being on the lakeside was superb! The weather co-operated beautifully! Close to Ambleside meant we could wander there if we wanted. Very close to the tourist boat trips.
Would have preferred a proper restaurant - we were celebrating our Pearl Wedding Anniversary and would've liked a special meal - bar meal was ok.
